Semesters

Winter Semester

Now in progress

Winter classes have begun, but there’s still time to join, with some classes available for drop-in trials (see below). Young chefs (ages 1½–16) are exploring some of history’s biggest flavor mash-ups—how ingredients and food ideas traveled across cultures to inspire the dishes we love today.

Led by Chef Lila, Winter Semester is a hands-on, joyfully curious cooking experience where kids learn by doing and tasting, building real kitchen skills week after week. Through our yearlong History of Food theme, young chefs discover how food has evolved across time and place—without it ever feeling like school.

Please remember that no makeups or refunds can be made for classes your child is unable to attend.

Our Classes

Please note: We do not offer trial classes; registration is required for the full semester.

We do not provide refunds, transfers, or makeup sessions for missed classes due to illness, personal emergencies, or events beyond our control. Prices have increased slightly to reflect rising food and supply costs. A payment plan is available.

To ensure a safe learning environment, Kitchen Table reserves the right to remove any student involved in behavior that compromises the safety of themselves, others, or our team. No refunds or make-up classes will be issued in such cases, though students may return once the behavior is resolved.

  • This class is specially designed to encourage toddlers to explore the creative side of cooking with the help from their adult caregiver. Their senses are used to identify foods through tasting, touching, and smelling. In addition, we introduce proper kitchen hygiene and advance children’s fine and gross motor skills through measuring, stirring, and kneading. They will be amazed to watch ingredients come together and become something wonderful to eat. The class is perfect for ages 2-3 years old. We do allow 3s who are not yet ready for a separation class and prefer to be with their adult. Adult chaperone participation is required.

  • Children will experience a fun, hands-on approach to cooking in this 1-hour drop-off class taught by a trained chef. We encourage children to try new foods while they create a recipe from scratch to take home and share with the family. By the end of the six weeks, your child will take home a cookbook so you can whip up the recipes at home!

  • Children will explore recipes with a variety of fresh ingredients and learn how to make healthy, balanced choices. We introduce basic cooking and baking techniques.

  • This class is especially designed for elementary-aged students who are ready to handle more mature responsibilities in the kitchen such as working with sharp knifes and kitchen equipment. They will learn to work independently and in groups to create a recipe to take home and share with family.

For children age 8, this class is recommended for students who have been in a Kitchen Table Summer Camp. Otherwise enrollment for 8-year-olds is up to Chef's discretion and may be recommended to enroll in Kitchen Brigade as an introduction.

  • This is a one and a half-hour advanced class for serious students in middle and high school looking to learn culinary techniques and knife skills. Each week will focus on recipes that highlight a specific technique.

Note: A waiver must be signed by a legal guardian.

This class is for students in middle school. Younger students must have prior cooking experience in one of the following: Gourmet Club, or our summer cooking camp at Chef's discretion.

Drop-in trial classes

Our Saturday afternoon parties are designed to be all-inclusive, hands-on cooking experiences for budding chefs ages 5–16. Parties are an hour and a half long and held on Saturdays from 12:30 to 2pm.
